Finding the Lovely
I looked up
That is one majestic tree I thought
I stopped
Drawn to the branches
Each clad in
Red, yellow, green
Golden brown or rust
Colored leaves
Swaying in the gentle breeze.
Against the blue sky
In the distance
She was a beauty
Right there
In the street.
I picked up a leaf
I walked on
With a smile
For I realized
All around us,
We can always
find the ‘lovely’.
So much beauty in the world when we look for it :)
ReplyDeleteThere is, isn't there?
DeleteI love the color and imagery in your poem and how you show your actions. Your last line is perfectly delivered. Yes, to finding the 'lovely". Beautiful poem.
ReplyDeleteI should make it a point to AlWAYS look for the lovelies <3
DeleteI agree. Seek it and you will find it, the 'lovely".
ReplyDeleteI shall keep looking <3
DeleteAs a fellow tree lover, I like the line: "Drawn to the branches". You nailed it then with those last two lines:
ReplyDeleteWe can always
find the 'lovely.'
I agree with you and I usually find it outside.
Same, Ramona. Nature has so much to share with us all
DeleteYour poem is an example of the lovely around us. Your writing is a wonderful reminder to be mindful of our surroundings. They often provide a beauty we become too accustomed to and miss its true loveliness.
ReplyDeleteThank you! So much 'loveliness' around us to discover, appreciate and enjoy
